Mamita… A Carabao or a Buffalo?
One of the unforgettable moment we had in Camp Blog 2009 was the talked of Sir Jo… he is one of the great speakers that Ischools invited to discussed a very interesting topic. I will never forget when he opened the topic about what had happened on the festival in Pulilan, Bulacan, last May 2009, when the Carabao gets crazy, I said it’s not a Carabao but it’s a Buffalo everybody laughed about it. Because we all knew that Native Kalabaw(carabao) is a Water Buffalo, What I was pointing out is they have different breeds. Mamita explain that Carabao and Buffalo are really differ from one another she said.. (Tina magkaiba talaga ang buffalo at ang kalabaw, magkaiba kasi sila ng sungay yung Kalabaw palabas ang sungay at ang Buffalo ay paloob.)
So I searched on the internet and I found out the breed of that buffalo is Bulgarian Buffalo, a cousin of Water Buffalo that means Water Buffalo originated here in the Philippines while the Bulgarian buffalo doesn’t.
